Sign up for Live Love Loud Life group. We are a life group for teens in 7th-12th grade. We meet every Sunday night at Renee and Alan Gehringers' house from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. We also go twice a month to visit local nursing homes (Chestnut Knoll and Manatawny Manor).

If you love hanging out with teens, studying God's word, worshiping, doing human videos, and serving the Lord in nursing homes by showing God's love then this is the group for you. We start Sept. 19 at the Gehringer's house. Short informational meeting on Sept. 5th at 10:30 a.m. in youth room at MSF. Sign-ups will begin on Wednesday, August 11th!

Summer is Winding Down

I can't believe that summer is actually coming to a close. I can't believe that August is already here.

We have had a wonderful summer filled with lots of fun activities including the slip-n-slide, ultimate frisbee and of course Camp Destin.

I wanted to mention a few things that are going on as we finish up the school year and get geared up for the new school year.

The 7th Grade Promotion night is Wednesday, August 18th. All the upcoming 7th graders are welcome to begin attending Fusion. Tuesday, August 24th is the Block Party at New Hanover United Methodist Church from 6:30-8:30.

Wednesday, August 25th Shannon Moyer will be bringing the message and then we will be having a movie night, previewing the movie, "To Save a Life". Plan on staying a little late that night.

Wednesday was an amazing day here at camp. It was very evident at morning beach games just how much the students are connecting with their roommates, and the other students on the trip. It is like watching dozens of mini-families coming together a a giant family reunion. (Click the read more link to view the day video).

Well we arrived in just under 24 hours of wonderful time on the school buses across 8 states covering 1200 miles. The kids were great on the way down! And the buses served us faithfully for another looong trip.

What's Going On in Fusion

Over the next few weeks we are going to dive into a series that we are very excited about, Elijah! Elijah is known for being an incredible man of God and often times the voice of God. However, his life was full of people, in authority no less, coming against him. Life just going wrong and basically his world spinning out of control!

I honestly think if any one persons life in the Bible lines up with the modern day teens, it would be Elijah! Many of you have so many things that are coming down on you and coming against you. You have people that are over you that are outright against you! Just when you think you can’t take any more then even more comes down on top of you!

We should have the Discount Cards available to begin selling next week. They have been printed and we are waiting for them to arrive. Remember, this is going to be the biggest fundraiser for Camp Destin. The cards sell for $5 and you profit the entire $5.

We are also working on the Labor for Hire. It has been announced in the bulletin and I will have a sign-up sheet Wednesday at Fusion, if you are interested in being put on the contact list for this fundraiser. We are also going to be having a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, June 13th at MSF. We will be selling advance tickets and the profit will be divided among all students the serve.

2010, Ready or NOT, Here we come!

This Year is going to be AMAZING in Fusion! Every year I get more and more excited about what God is doing. 2009 was exciting, but I know that what God has lined up for 2010 is going to be even better. We are working very diligently to bring new and relevant teachings to the students of Fusion. P. Shaun is going to be finishing his 2 week series on "A Place for Everyone" this week. He is talking about how Fusion is going to be a place where everyone can feel welcome and accepted. We will being the annual series on Sex and Dating this February. We will be giving more information before this series begins.

I want to start the year off by making it clear that I am always available for parents and students alike. Please feel free to call me or e-mail at angela@fusionpa.org if you ever need anything!

Fine Arts 2010

I cannot believe that we are beginning to talk about Fine Arts again, but it is here and we need to begin preperation!

If you are interested in participating in Fine Arts this year or if you would like more information about what Fine Arts is, you can see Mrs. Angela, Katie or Shannon and get an informational packet with rule book for the competition this year. Fine Arts is a good avenue to show your creative and artistic talents while using them to honor God.

Sectional Fine Arts is February 20th at Glad Tidings A/G in Reading. We will be taking transportation from MSF that morning.
